Hydraulic System Cleaning Service

What Kinds of Systems Need Flushing?

SEM offers the cleaning of newly fabricated systems or existing system that have become contaminated. Our technologies are also a best practice to use when considering changing oil types in an existing hydraulic system.

SEM’s standard cleanliness level targeted during flushing is half the level during normal operation. For example, if the normal operation level is ISO 15/13/11, flush to an ISO14/12/10. Requirements for cleanliness levels of both solid particles and moisture will be achieved in 99 percent of applications.

SEM Capabilities

SEM provides many procedural options dependent on system design and target specifications, but more so because of practical limitations and overall requirements of individual machines. We develop a flush scope based on our clients needs and budget using an assortment of engineering and administrative techniques:

  • Highly skilled and knowledge professionals
  • State of the art equipment
  • Repair and support offerings in house to accompany flush activities
  • Documented flush plans, notes, and results for owner records
  • Online particulate, temperature, and flow monitoring
  • Turn key packages
  • Mobile hose shop to accompany system set-up and trouble shooting
  • Pipe fitters/welders and millwright services

Cost in Mind

The cost typically encountered with a system cleaning can climb rapidly dependent upon system design, line size/length, site layouts, line material, and target specifications.

Often, little as one-third of the total time is spent on the flushing activity itself. Two-thirds of the time is used to mobilize flushing equipment and workers, disassemble sensitive components, assemble by-pass lines, connect flushing hoses, preclean the flushing fluid, fill up the system and heat the flushing fluid and piping. SEM can provide many cost saving measures:

  • Through and thorough planning of the flush activities
  • State of the art technology
  •        Up to 200GPM
  •        Low pressure drop over systems
  •        Directional reversal on the run, through our in house designed low control skid
  •        Online particle monitoring
  •        Duplex filter designed skid
  •        High flow, high capacity flush manifold
  • Having full design build capabilities SEM can complete your hydraulic system in one turn key package.
  • Flush packages include hose building, hose installation, and piping/millwright services to execute all facets of flush activities.
  • Piping/Millwright services ensure all found system deficiencies are properly repaired in a safe and timely fashion which reduces or eliminates down time of flushing activities.

Limitations:

SEM takes pride in our hydraulic system design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and servicing. We specialize and recommend the use of all stainless steel or higher quality components. Any system utilizing carbon steel for piping, an initial chemical cleaning, according to the DEWA DPI System, is strongly recommended. SEM does not provide chemical cleaning services however can manage the activities and offer clients suggestions for professionals with DPI cleaning capabilities.
